Overfilling Whirlpool Washer With Water Due to Faulty Water Level Sensor
Brand: WhirlpoolModel: LSQ7533JQ0
A customer contacted us to report that their Whirlpool washer is overfilling with water. A Whirlpool washing machine presented a concerning issue where it continuously filled with water, leading to overflow and water spillage onto the floor. Upon thorough inspection, the root cause was identified as a malfunctioning water level sensor.
In this specific model, which is a basic version without any control boards, the water level sensor is mechanical and integrated with a manual water level selection knob. Given the age and wear of the appliance, the water level sensor had likely become faulty over time. Typically, when the washing machine reaches the desired water level, the sensor triggers. This halts the water intake and allows the machine to proceed with the wash cycle. However, in this instance, the sensor remained in the closed position, continuously allowing water to fill without interruption.
Overfilling Whirlpool washer with water: repair
The solution to this issue was straightforward: replacing the faulty water level sensor. After replacing the sensor, the washing machine resumed its normal functioning, effectively addressing the overflow problem. It serves as a reminder that even basic washing machine models require periodic checks and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
