Water in the freezer at the bottom of the Whirlpool refrigerator
Brand: WhirlpoolModel: WRF560SMYMOA
In the customer’s Whirlpool refrigerator, there was water in the freezer at the bottom that constantly froze, forming a layer of ice. As usual, the problem stemmed from a frozen drip pan, caused by water not passing through the drain tube. Our technician inspected the drain tube during the restriction. They found a small foreign object inside the drain valve, blocking the water flow through the drain tube. This resulted in the drip pan filling with water, causing water to leak onto the freezer floor.
Water in the freezer of a Whirlpool refrigerator: Fix
To address this issue, we implemented a straightforward solution: cleaning the drain valve. This resolved the problem by ensuring that the water could flow properly through the drain tube, preventing the buildup of ice and water in the freezer.
Issues related to water accumulation and ice formation in the freezer are a common occurrence in refrigerators. However, the specific cause of the problem can vary. In this case, the presence of a foreign object in the drain valve blocked the water flow. As a result of the blocked water flow, ice accumulated. Regular maintenance and prompt identification of such issues are key to ensuring that your refrigerator operates efficiently.
