The oven is not working, but the stovetop is functioning normally Whirlpool Range
Brand: WhirlpoolModel: N/A
The customer called us to report that their Whirlpool Range oven is not working and requested that we identify the cause and fix the issue. We came across a rather amusing case. The customer explained that they were cooking food for a holiday, and after a long cooking, they were using a pot with oil on the stovetop similar to deep frying. After several hours of cooking, the customer heard a loud pop and noticed that the oven control panel went dark.
Our technician inspected the timer and found melted plastic. Upon opening the timer (oven control board), the technician discovered exploded capacitors on the board and concluded that the board had overheated. The extremely hot oil, which reaches temperatures close to 450 degrees, heated the front panel significantly, causing the plastic housing of the board to melt. Additionally, the capacitors overheated and exploded, leading to the malfunction of the board and the oven.
