The ice maker in the LG refrigerator is not working
Brand: LGModel: LFX25960ST
The customer called us to solve the issue with the ice maker in the LG refrigerator which is not working. Upon arriving on-site, our technician promptly conducted a thorough diagnostic, which ultimately revealed the root cause of the problem. In fact, LG refrigerators typically have ice makers built into the left door of the fridge. These ice makers, utilize the cold air from the freezer section to produce ice. In addition to the main freezer fan, there is another fan installed inside the freezer, specifically for the ice maker. Two channels for air circulation are set up between this fan and the ice maker inside the left wall of the refrigerator.
In this case, it was discovered that the freezer door was not sealing properly for some reason. Warm room air was infiltrating into the freezer. Consequently, during circulation, this warm air rapidly condensed near the ice maker’s fan. Without the circulation of cold air, the ice maker couldn’t freeze the water and ceased working.
