If a Maytag dishwasher will not start, check only external conditions and the instructions for your exact model. Do not remove panels, test wiring, or bypass the door latch.

• Confirm the household power is on. Check the breaker without removing its cover; reset it once only if safe. If it trips again, leave it off and contact an electrician.
• Make sure the door is fully closed and latched normally. Do not force the door or test the latch mechanism.
• Check whether Control Lock, Sleep, Delay Start, or another setting is active. Controls vary by model.
