Samsung Microwave Not Heating: Safe Checks

If a Samsung microwave runs but does not heat, do not open the cabinet or attempt an internal repair. High-voltage components can remain dangerous even after power is disconnected. The following checks are limited to the controls and other external conditions described in the owner’s manual for your model.

Safe Checks

• Confirm that a timed cook cycle, power level, and start command are set as intended; check that the unit is not in Demo mode or a kitchen-timer-only mode.
• Use a microwave-safe container with food or water inside. Never run the microwave empty or use metal unless the model manual specifically permits an accessory.
• Make sure the door closes normally and is not visibly damaged. Do not test the latch or door switches.
• Follow the model manual for any permitted power reset. Stop if the appliance sparks, smells hot, smokes, or makes an unusual sound.

If the microwave still does not heat, discontinue use and arrange qualified microwave service. Do not remove an internal fuse or test a capacitor, diode, magnetron, inverter, wiring, or control board. Provide the full model number and describe the symptoms.
